It’s a new year, and that means it’s time to look at what wedding trends are on the horizon for 2024. While some trends from 2023 are carrying over to 2024, there are a few new trends to look out for in the wedding industry. If you’re just starting to plan your wedding and looking for some inspiration, we’ve got your trend list right here!
PS - trends always come and go. At the end of the day, it’s YOUR wedding! Even if it’s not “trendy”, if it makes you and your partner happy, do it!
Those “WOW” Factor Moments

While (some) weddings of the past stuck to classic traditions, many couples are now opting for a “wow” moment at their wedding. Think a grand food spread, artistic floral display or installation, or even a surprise dance routine, couples are opting to visually impress their guests with something unique.
A Curated, Unique Menu
It’s no secret that food is a huge part of a wedding. Almost all couples put a lot of thought and effort into their menu. With a rise in highly curated menus, many 2024 couples are opting for a meaningful menu - both food-wise and cocktail-wise. Whether that means serving a dish from a memorable trip or the cocktail you had on your first date. Additionally, food trucks and late night snacks are fun, unique, and a great way to add that casual vibe to your wedding.
Mini Rather Than Massive Bouquets

While your bouquet is meant to be special, that doesn’t mean it can’t be mini! Many brides are choosing a mini bouquet in lieu of a traditional bouquet. Not only does it help with your budget, having a mini bouquet allows you to show off more of your dress and accessories!
Just the Two of You

Remember when it seemed like wedding parties mimicked an entire sports team? While it’s fun to share your big day with all your friends and family, couples are now opting for no (or very small) wedding parties. For example, only having a maid of honor and best man then celebrating with everyone after the ceremony. It’s a great way to keep your wedding intimate (and not having to upset someone by not including them in the wedding party!).
Goodbye Long Ceremonies

Excluding religious ceremonies, many couples are choosing shorter ceremonies over long, drawn-out ceremonies. While there is no set rule for how long a wedding ceremony should be, 2024 couples are planning ceremonies between 20-30 minutes or even a private ceremony followed by cocktail hour with their guests.

Don’t get us wrong, we love a traditional wedding cake. However, we equally love unique ways to serve desserts - think ice cream stations, gelato stations, cannolis, cookies, the possibilities are endless! If you still want a wedding cake but want to make it unique, try mini, individual cakes for your guests.
Photo-Worthy Moments

Not necessarily a new trend, photo-worthy moments are here to stay. Champagne towers, for example, are not only a fun way to serve champagne, but a perfect photo opportunity! Posing in a vintage car or in a boat are other ways to create those photo-worthy moments.
A (Themed) Dress Code

While a “dress code” sounds like something from grade school, many couples are embracing a dress code - especially when it comes to a theme. Not only does it create the coolest photos, but honestly, it helps guests know what to wear. Because “formal” can mean so many things, right?
A Spin on the Guest Book
Rather than have guests leave a written message, why not have them leave an audio message? Not only does it add a fun spin for your guests, you and your partner will love listening back to what your guests said post-wedding.
Supporting Local & Sustainable

Another trend that is still going strong is choosing local and sustainable options when possible. Whether that is a local vendor or virtual invitations, many couples are choosing to be sustainable and support local when they can.
