First comes the engagement then comes choosing a wedding venue! While, yes, choosing a wedding venue can be stressful (to say the least…), it can also be fun! Especially when you find your perfect wedding venue. And we’re here to help make choosing a wedding venue easier with 10 things to consider when finding your perfect fit!
The Budget
Arguably one of the most important aspects to consider when choosing your wedding venue: the budget. If you have your heart set on a venue that is over-budget, consider cutting back on other expenses to make it work!
The Guest List:
Will the wedding venue be able to accommodate your guest list? If not, you’ll either have to find a new venue or trim down your guest list.
The Wedding Style:
Is your wedding style rustic? Beachy? Garden? Vintage? Choose a wedding venue that fits your style. You don’t want to have a beach-themed wedding at a mountaintop venue!
The Amenities/Services
Does the venue offer a space to get ready before the ceremony? What’s included in the rental? Does it include linens, chairs, tables, catering options, audio-visual equipment, etc.? This ensures you aren’t missing reception chairs on your wedding day…
The Location:
Do you have your heart set on an out of state or destination wedding? Will a lot of guests be flying in from out of town? Keep in mind the location and surrounding accommodations & provide options for guests.
The Availability:
It may seem obvious, but make sure your ideal wedding venue is available on your preferred date! Check the venue's availability on your preferred date and consider alternative dates or seasons if necessary.
The Backup Plans:
Florida weather is…unpredictable to say the least. Check with your wedding venue to see if they offer backup plans for inclement weather - especially if it’s an outdoor venue!
The Accessibility:
Another important yet often overlooked aspect of choosing a wedding venue: accessibility! Ensure the venue is accessible for guests with disabilities or other mobility needs.
The Vendor Policies:
Many venues offer a list of preferred vendors to help make the planning process seamless. However, if you are using any outside vendors, ensure there aren’t any restrictions on using outside vendors for catering, decor, or other services.
The Staff and Service:
Who will be on site on your wedding day? Will they be able to assist & coordinate the day of? The last thing you need is someone forgetting to light the candles during your reception!
And there you have it! Ten things to consider when choosing a wedding venue to help make the planning process just a little easier!
