How to Add a Touch of Goth to Your Wedding

What do you think of when hear “goth wedding”? If you thought of the movie ‘The Addams Family’, you’re not alone.

But, we’re here to share some tips and tricks on how to incorporate gothic elements into your wedding decor that’s less ‘Addams Family’ and more dreamy, vibrant, and bold.

Small Decor Details

If you’re interested in incorporating goth decor into your wedding but don’t want to go overboard, we recommend small gothic additions such as a moody, jewel-toned floral arrangement, tablescape decor such as deep purple napkins with gold cutlery, or a mix of emerald green, dark purple, and gold candles.

With these small touches, your wedding will have that romantic, moody vibe.

Wearing Goth at Your Wedding

Adding gothic details to your wedding day attire may seem scary (hello, black wedding dress!), but there’s certainly a way to incorporate it without going full-on goth. For example, rather than paint your nails a traditional white, opt for a darker, moodier color such as emerald, purple, or gold. And, for your “something blue”, rather than a bright blue, try a deep, rich blue in the form of accessories or shoes. You can also incorporate goth in your bridal bouquet! If you’re feeling extra bold, a darker lip will add that gothic touch.

As for your wedding party, you can have them wear a jewel-toned outfit or accessories.

Serving Goth

A fun way to incorporate the gothic trend into your wedding is through your food and drinks. For example, have a wedding cake with gothic accents - or you can even serve a black or deep purple colored cake for that little something extra.

A signature drink is another great way to add that gothic element to your wedding - whether that’s a red wine-based drink, a whiskey cocktail, or even a margarita with a black salted rim.
